My name is Christine and I am located in beautiful Canberra, Australia's wonderful bush capital city.
I have always loved handcrafts. My grandmother taught me crochet and embroidery when I was quite young.
Mini-Me Handcrafts was started in February 2011 after my daughter started school and I was looking for a creative outlet. I love to try new patterns and designs. I also love to use hand dyed and hand spun yarns, and you will find that I often use these for my scarves, cowls, shawls and other creations, supporting other friends in the world of handmade.
I have three main crafts on which I focus - crochet, weaving and knitting. I really enjoy the learning process and creativity of mastering new crafts and techniques and I love to experiment with new styles and fibres.
I use a knook to create the most beautiful hand knit pieces. It may be an unusual method of knitting, but I have found that it gives a very even stitch tension and definition which produces a wonderful fabric.
Most of my items are one of a kind; all are hand crafted with love. Therefore yarn, colours and pattern variations may occur. Small parts including small beads may not be suitable for young children.
